A leading telecom provider struggled with its online strategy, governance and site complexity. Next to that, support for the companies online domain was scattered among multiple vendors, subcontractors and internal resources. This fragmentation resulted in release delays and poor business alignment. The telecom provider asked Accenture to help stabilize the companies online support and simplify the technical environment.

How Accenture Helped

  • Accenture has overall responsibility for application development and maintenance for all associated applications for the Telecom Provider’s Internet domains, including: Fatwire, Intershop, GX, CSS, HTML, Weblogic, Orbeon, Pega, Omniture and Oracle IAM.

  • Accenture created incentive mechanisms and key performance indicators tied to the companies business goals of improving quality and efficiency.

  • Accenture acts as the design “watchdog,” helping the Leading Dutch Telecom Provider move to one simplified service catalogue and architecture.

Accenture helps the Telecom Provider achieve greater quality, stability, predictability, flexibility and an increased focus on security and internal controls, as well as cost efficiency in the online domain:

  • Realized more than a 24% decrease in baseline spend and year-on-year productivity gains of 10% per year.

  • Continuous improvement initiatives are expected to add another 5% in savings for the Telecom Provider.
