“I embraced the opportunity to work abroad on international projects.”
My name is Michelle. Together with my boyfriend I live in a beautiful historical part of Rotterdam ‘Historisch Delfshaven’. Whenever it’s sunny out and I get the chance, I enjoy going out for a ride on my motorcycle.
In 2015, I started working at Accenture. As many of you, I enjoy traveling and meeting people from all over the world. At Accenture, I embraced the opportunity to work abroad on international projects. During my last assignment as PMO Lead in Germany, our team comprised of many American and Asian colleagues. Provinding me with the opportunity to truly broaden my cultural understanding. But also manage the challenges of different time zones!
My current assignment also allows me to travel, as the project is based in both Amsterdam and Paris. As the project PMO, I am truly at the heart of the project, this calls for me to alternate weekly between the two locations. Allowing me to really get to know the people I work with on a personal level, and stilling my curiosity regarding their culture. And as you can imagine, I am always happy to tell everyone about my own beautiful country as well!
“For me thought leadership is a combination of vision and challenges.”
PMO Thought Leader
From a beach on Ischia (Italy) to a family house in Haarlem. Twenty years have passed since I made the choice, now I am happily married and the proud father of 3 children.
Passion is what drives me, results are my goal. When I left Italy, I knew I could do more. I had my university degree in my backpack and I wanted to change the world. Now I am at Accenture and I know I can.
As a PMO Thought Leader, my role often consists of explaining and enhancing the importance of a well-oiled and embedded project management office.
I believe PMO helps organizations deliver their projects effectively, ensuring a harmonious and professional environment; built to facilitate project managers in their daily work. Principally, I enable organizations to maintain control, allowing them to focus on a single project, program or the whole portfolio.
For me thought leadership is a combination of vision and challenges; How can we improve project delivery by professionalizing our PMO process? How can we enable organizations to meet their strategic goals? Through training, networking and proper guidance, Accenture has provided me with the time and instruments to fulfill this role.
“Nothing is out of reach when we act together.”
“Nothing is out of reach when we act together” is where I stand for in my role as manager of PCS ADE (Accenture Delivery Enablement). With focus on good relations within our team and with our clients. The continuous aim to achieve and go for the extra mile are elements which I really love in our people at this great company!
I personally have to go for a lot of extra miles every day since I live in the beautiful, quiet and small city Hardenberg in the far east of the Netherlands. Already for four years now together with my wife and two daughters. I like to read, spend time with friends and family, do some volunteer work or go for a long walk.
“Improving the way teams deliver change.”
Martijn van Kuik
‘Improving the way teams deliver change’. We’ve defined this as ‘reason for being’ for our Program Control Services team, and it’s what I personally still love about our line of work. Reaching results, and doing so with energized people that bring their best every day. Actively applying ‘New PMO’ concepts like Agile and automation makes this an even greater place to work!
I nowadays live in Zeist in the midst of nice green forests, where I like to cycle or wander with my girlfriend and two young kids. Traveling remains a passion, and we’re slowly but surely working our way back to backpacker-mode as much as the kids allow it. Campervans are just a step along the way.
“With my wife, 3 kids, and 2 rabbits, I live in the nice village of Heemstede and in the limited time left next to the family stuff, I like cycling and DIY activities.”
With my wife, 3 kids, and 2 rabbits, I live in the nice village of Heemstede and in the limited time left next to the family stuff, I like cycling and DIY activities …. Just some physical challenge after a whole day of thinking and worrying about how our Client Delivery Enablement (CDE) team can make a difference in the project-organizations of our clients. As CDE lead, I strive for making our people work from their strengths to realize change together with their client teams. My believes are that we achieve true client satisfaction and what I incredibly love about our NEW PMO team is that our people do that with a lot of energy, a lot of fun, by working hard, with a lot of creativity, and by being great people!
“I live in the beautiful Utrecht.”
Jesper van Dijk
I live in the beautiful Utrecht. In my spare time you can find me working out in the gym or having quality time with friends and family.
After completing my Bachelor degree in Commerce, I started working at Accenture in 2011. Accenture offered me a lot of opportunities and let me do the things I love: working with smart people with different backgrounds from all over the world who are challenging you every day.
Currently I’m staffed on assignments based in the Netherlands and France, which allows me to travel to Paris each other week. In my daily job I’m focusing on the Financial & Cost Management on our projects and optimization of Project Management Offices.
“My name is Luuk Kienhorst, I’m married, one son, and living happily together close to Deventer.”
My name is Luuk Kienhorst, I’m married, one son, and living happily together close to Deventer. My journey at Accenture started in May 2014 as a Senior Analyst and over the past ~4 years made two promotions to Associate Manager. I’m still enjoying my journey every moment and this is mainly due to three important aspects of Accenture:
1) Multi-national/global clients with possibilities to travel: A pharmaceutical company, an office-supply retailer, a system bank, and a chemical company are clients where I have done projects for. Some of these projects required travelling and I have had the privilege to travel to London, Basel, Dublin, and Brussels.
2) Employee development: Accenture is investing in her employees so they keep developing themselves both professional and personal by providing relevant training. Next to this, there are many opportunities to further develop yourself in The New depending on your aspirations. For me personally, I have taken on the opportunity to lead an international team which focusses on assisting the start-up phase for system integration projects.
3) Career Counseling: Every employee has a Career Counselor who guides you and your career within Accenture and can act as a sounding board for nearly all career related questions. In my perception, this is one of Accenture’s key differentiators.
“Joining PCS was not a decision based solely on the work I want to do, but also on the mindset of the people I wanted to work with.”
Joining PCS was not a decision based solely on the work I want to do, but also on the mindset of the people I wanted to work with. I was happy to find a high level of energy and inspiration in the team. Apart from the experience that client projects provided, I was also able to expand internally on PMO topics that I found interesting. This lead me to pick up the topic of Agile PMO. The exciting challenge with this topic is that, unlike Agile roles, ceremonies, rules and artifacts, Agile PMO has not been fully defined yet. This leaves room for the PCS team to shape it together. Along with the Netherlands agile community and our PCS counterparts in Germany and the UK, we look into the role of PMO in the Agile organization, and how we can deliver those services to our clients. It is an interesting journey and we look forward to get more agile-enthusiasts on board!
