About Liquid Studio @ Accenture Technology
Within Accenture Technology, we have group of about 100 engineers passionate about software engineering, called the Liquid Studio. Consider it a small company on its own picking the cherries from very strong ties with a big corporate. In the Liquid Studio we’re prioritizing engineering culture and mobilization of small project teams to work on MVP’s, POC’s & POV’s. When doing an internship at the Liquid Studio, you will work in a safe experimentation environment where you’re allowed a lot of flexibility to drive things the way you prefer. We believe engineers are much more productive working on technologies they enjoy and support. The general goal of our internships is to create real-world application from scratch to production. If you’d like to pitch in your own project, you are more than welcome to do so as well. Do mention that during the interview and pitch it (in a few words) in your motivation letter. We also have ongoing projects from which you can choose. A project is always guided & coached by a supervisor. If you pick an ongoing project, you’re most likely going to work together with co-students and/or employees in an Agile & DevOps team. The team will be multi-disciplinary, covering all aspects of Development like UX & Business analyst, Backend, Frontend & DevOps.
Depending on your profile and interests we will discuss what area best fit your aspirations. This can be in any IT area of the project, like engineering a core module, the UI, supporting the team as business analyst or designing & building the CI/CD pipelines. You will be free to choose, in agreement with your team and counselors, any technology you see fit for the job. For example choosing the language (Java, NodeJS, Kotlin, Angular, etc.), CI/CD tools, Libraries and testing frameworks. You’ll be working in an agile team and education is the priority.
Depending on your interests & school requirements, research opportunities are also a possibility in case you want/need to write a thesis. Please also indicate this in your motivational letter.
At the Liquid Studio, we promote prioritization of ambitions during project selection. Our primary drive for internships is not commercial. If your outcomes are marketable by the end of your internship, then that’s of course a nice achievement. Keeping that in mind, feel free to pitch your own project. However, if you prefer to select an existing project, we run about 15 projects at any given moment in time. For inspiration, we’ve listed 3 projects below:
· Liquid Studio Coin
o The Liquid Studio is building an asset lending application using a private blockchain. This application keeps track of where assets are currently located, who currently owns them and when they should be transferred or returned. The application uses a mobile front-end coupled with a private blockchain with smart contracts written in Go.
· Recommendation Engine
o The ever-growing team of Liquid Studio is developing a platform that can help us finding a perfect match for roles that our team members might like to join. This can range from skills matching to the entire history of the employee. Besides a simple web UI we also want to build extended platforms for our team to communicate with this engine and get information on the current assignment and availability of employees such as chat/voice assistant, XR/VR to physical gamification of this platform to enable brainstorming.
· Sustainable Programming
o 2-4% of global greenhouse gas emissions are estimated to be originating from Data Centers. Most delivery teams have little to no embedded checks & balances with regards to delivering code bases minding impact on climate. The bottom line of this position is "How can we optimize our codebases with regards to reduction of carbon footprint?". This may involve...
- SDLC behavioral changes
- Development of set of automated tests monitoring energy consumption
- Static code analysis searching for inefficient code
- Design principles to follow
- Defining balance of fast UX / availability and resource utilization
- Compiler optimizations
- Libraries / Language / Patterns / frameworks to avoid or adopt

Working closely alongside clients and an international team of professionals you will develop innovative solutions, through mediums such as robotics and artificial intelligence. Throughout the business process you will engage in the development of defense strategies, combining technology and user behavior, to ensure the security of your client. Together we connect the needs of clients with upcoming innovative technologies prepare them for the future.
- Graduate intern of an IT Bachelor (3rd of 4th year) or Master
- Both English and Dutch speakers are welcome
Characteristics we are looking for in an applicant:
- Passion for IT & tech
- Willing to learn
- Good team worker
- Not afraid to ask questions or propose ideas
What we ask from you to know
- Experience with one or more of the following languages
- A willingness to learn programming languages you don’t know yet
- Experience with a database system like MySQL, MongoDB or similar
- Know how to integrate a front-end and backend application
What would be nice to have but not required:
- Experience or affinity with writing (unit) tests for your code
- Experience or affinity with a frontend framework like React, Angular, Vue etc..
- Experience or high-level knowledge of docker
