Job description

As a Contract Specialist you are responsible for managing the larger and more complex (IT) implementation, outsourcing and maintenance contracts. Provide legal and commercial support to the Client Engagement team as contract expert and trusted advisor to enable the utilization of international and commercial contracts and subcontracts within the Financial Services group in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements.  Responsible for tracking and monitoring contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and risks, and maintaining associated documentation. You are knowledgeable, proactive, have a positive attitude, a can-do mentality and will be visible on your projects so that clients and colleagues know where to find you for advice and improvement of processes. You will be working in an international environment on a global account, with contracts in the US, NL, BE and Nordics.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Acts as the operational lead on the contracts– interact with project and delivery leads and other supporting teams in order to monitor and manage the (upcoming) contracts.
  • Reports to the CM Account lead
  • Prepares Contract Management, Account and Client reports, related to contract risks,  issues and contract status
  • Supports a portfolio account – several clients as well as several contracts within one account
  • Guides, train and mentor near/offshore colleagues
  • Acts as liaison between Accenture and clients/vendors
  • Participates in Contract Management and Project Management teams to support contract and subcontract compliance
  • Review and draft contracts for the account
  • Review and manage contractual obligations of the parties, develop processes and provide continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met
  • Identifies contract management issues and proposes solutions for approval
  • Ensuring that contract compliance is maintained and issues resolved and direct escalation if the contract is not complied with or issues are not resolved
  • Provides negotiation support as required 
  • Independently work at smaller engagements or work within team at a large, more complex engagement
  • Independently applies the contract management tools and techniques
  • Supports training activities for Contract Management personnel and legal awareness in the (Project) organisation
  • Working knowledge of Accenture policy and Contract and Commercial Management Processes preferred
  • Coordinate, draft and execute the contract change process to keep contracts up to date


Place in the organization

You will be working within the business unit "Contract Management", part of Accenture Corporate Functions. Accenture Corporate Functions support the business in the areas of Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Facilities & Services and Marketing & Communications.

Qualifications

  • Legal Master Degree
  • IACCM certificate is a plus
  • Affinity with commercials and finances is a plus
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in an international business environment
  • Significant experience in the contract management/Legal/ procurement field
  • Experience with stakeholder management in a complex international environment
  • Experience in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts
  • Experience with IT and outsourcing contractsis a plus
  • Experience and affinity with digital areas, like e.g. robotics, cloud, is a plus
  • Knowledge of intellectual property matters, in relationship to consulting, systems integration and outsourcing contracts;
  • Proven success in contributing within a team environment
  • Ability to apply sound business judgment
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Onshore, client-facing experience across a variety of industries   
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Driver's license B (working regularly at the customer premises)
  • You must be willing to be fully mobile, (project sites in the Netherlands and a few times per year organized international meetings and trainings)
