Junior Achievement (JA) is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programmes are delivered by corporate and community volunteers and provide relevant, hands-on experience to give students from kindergarten to high-school invaluable knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
Through a variety of programmes, the children are brought into contact with successful business leaders and engage in exercises that build their awareness of their ability to make a meaningful economic contribution. The children are given the opportunity to think and dream big about what their future holds for them. By encouraging its people to volunteer with JA Nigeria, Accenture helps deliver high-quality economic education programs. In 2012, Accenture also donated 3 million naira ($18,500) to JA Nigeria to further boost its implementation of youth programmes.
