Mark Knickrehm is group chief executive of Accenture Strategy and a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee. Prior to assuming his current role in 2013, Mark served in several key leadership positions in Accenture’s Health and Public Service practice areas.
Mark is a true thought leader, continually developing his understanding of how emerging trends and digital technologies are shaping businesses’ operations, competitiveness and future workforce readiness. These insights inform his role as head of Accenture Strategy, which focuses on solving clients’ most pressing challenges at the intersection of business, technology and operations. They also help guide Mark’s work in helping C-suite executives develop strategies to transform their organizations.
Mark spent 12 years at McKinsey & Company where, as a partner, he focused on strategy, operations and organization. He also served for two years as executive vice president, CFO and president of international operations for Paging Networks, Inc. (PageNet), a publicly held wireless company with annual revenues of more than $1 billion. He rejoined Accenture in 2005, having previously been with Accenture from 1984-1989, where he led large client software design, development and installation teams.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. He is currently based in Los Angeles, after spending three years living and working in Asia.
