OEMs are enhancing service offerings. In addition to a boost in revenue, OEMs will also benefit from additional insights about customer usage behavior.
Vehicle options will be sold that rely on connectivity. Features, such as autopilot, should be separated from the connectivity bundle to avoid the implication that they are simply another “free” feature.
New car functionality will be available after it leaves the shop floor. Free updates are conceivable, as well as chargeable upgrades that will bring new functionality to the vehicle – even after it’s been purchased.
