I am a Management Consulting Analyst, working primarily on change management projects in the Communications, Media & Technology industry. My job requires me to interface regularly with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailor-fit solutions to their problems. In my previous project, I conducted training sessions, constructed training materials and published newsletters and reports that aimed to raise awareness about our capabilities.
I start my day by working out at the gym. Afterwards, I grab some coffee and head for work. Sometimes while driving, I sing karaoke in the car. These activities help me get through the day. As soon as I arrive at the office, I turn on my computer and review my list of to-do’s for the day. I tackle the difficult tasks first, then work my way to the easier stuff by the afternoon. At the end of the day, I summarize what was accomplished, what remains pending and what needs to be done the following day. I then inform my team about my current work status, so that I can offer support in case any of them need it. At the end of the day, I go home, have dinner and spend time with my family.
On weekends, I like spending quality time with family and friends. I started scuba diving recently, after having talked about doing it for years. Pretty soon, I’ll be taking the open water exam and look forward to getting certified.
Say yes to every opportunity so you don’t become stagnant in your career. Anything that can further your knowledge is always a plus in my book. On the other hand, if you know you can’t commit to something fully, then have the courage to say no.
