I was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya, but finished my undergraduate studies in Melbourne, Australia. After graduation, I was conflicted between my native versus adopted city. In the end, I went with my roots, hopped on a jet plane home and brought with me amazing memories from my adoptive city of six years.
Happily, I’ve adapted well to life back in Kuala Lumpur. It’s like I never left. Rediscovering my love for the city all over again has been a refreshing experience.
On returning home, I wanted to start afresh in a company that could provide an outlet for my enthusiasm and drive.
Accenture seemed like a perfect fit and the opportunity to work together with one of the best in the industry was too good to pass up.
Today, I can attest to the fact that the people you work alongside are the reason why this is such a great place. My most memorable project to date is still my first - as part of the Change Management team under an SAP Implementation. From having to jump straight into developing training materials on a tight timeline, to being deployed to support end-user training at various locations across Malaysia, the one constant was the fantastically supportive team that I was proud to be a part of.
Besides project work, I’ve been heavily involved in many of Accenture’s extra-curricular activities. The many amazing people and experiences along the way definitely make the time investment much more than worth it. Other than just being a great way to network, I see it as doing my small part to contribute back to the company, to help drive engagement levels amongst our dynamic workforce.
Outside of work, I try to maintain as much of a work-life balance as I can. Making time to catch up with friends when I can is a priority. Maintaining a strong network outside Accenture is very important, as not only does it keep you updated on trends, but also helps refresh your perspective at work by forcing you to keep looking at the bigger picture.
Other than that, I hit the gym, get absorbed in a good book or follow my beloved Arsenal Football Club. I’m actually a huge fan of fantasy and science fiction books or movies, like The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars. High on my to-do list during my free time is to hunt for new places for gastronomical adventures.
