On a typical day, my tasks range from studying data and churning out insights, to working with counterparts to weigh probable project phase results. I collaborate with different workstreams within my project to gather specifications and give informed project recommendations to clients.
One of the most exciting projects I’ve had was a key petrochemical development project of an oil and gas company. I helped the client implement SAP S/4HANA, an enterprise resource planning system covering all day-to-day processes of large companies.
The beauty of this project was having people from diverse backgrounds work in alignment to achieve success on such a massive scale. We even had the privilege of visiting the company’s onshore refinery complex to familiarize ourselves with the client’s facilities and value chain.
My current team is made up of consultants from distinct fields of specialization. We have engineers, accountants and even psychologists, and we’re all the better for benefiting from each other’s unique perspective.
As a team, we keep our work atmosphere positive and engaging. When it comes to the serious stuff, we put our heads together and get the job done. When it comes to fun, we mix business and pleasure by alternating brown bag sessions with team meals out!
While I joined this company with minimal knowledge of software and programming languages, I’ve always been able to successfully complete all project tasks I’m given. This is due in no small part to the highly effective myLearning courses on offer, and the comprehensive recommendations our resident tech experts so generously share. As an innovation leader, Accenture has guaranteed access to the latest tools and hands-on experiences in the ever-changing world of technology.
My favorite thing about working here is the availability of learning opportunities. With each project I’m assigned, my exposure to the different tasks, people and environments helps me broaden and advance my skill sets.
For instance, I was lucky enough to attend the Accenture Consulting University in Bangalore a couple of months ago. There, I connected with people from all around the globe and completed a week’s training on building your self-confidence and consultancy capabilities.
On my days off, I enjoy going hiking or jungle trekking, playing football, strumming my guitar and spending quality time with my family.
