I start my mornings reading e-mails, organizing tasks and checking project updates. When needed, I would have sit-downs with our clients to discuss project requirements. I then spend the rest of my day brainstorming with colleagues from our functional and development teams to create solutions to client problems.
My project work also involves managing a diverse team of people who are as multitalented as they are multinational. Our locations in different points across the globe from Singapore to France to India means that we work together virtually. It’s such an interesting setup, but to make it work, I encourage them to respect and value the unique strengths each brings to the table. This has helped pave the way for the magic of collaboration and cooperation to take place!
Speaking of magic, I can say that my role has taken me to places. In my most memorable turn as SAP finance team lead, I oversaw a large project involving SAP S4/HANA system implementation in 11 countries across Europe and Asia. Its scale was staggering and the complexity challenging. Nonetheless, I was elated with the project all the way. It had helped me realize my dream of one day working in Europe!
Looking back, I have come a long way since joining Accenture. Before stepping into the company, I had not had any idea about ERP systems or even SAP. Now, eight years since, I have multiple SAP implementation projects under my belt—and I look forward to learning, exploring and doing more.
For me, Accenture provides me the best platform for growth. Through our strategic partnership with SAP, I continue honing my skills and advancing my career while bringing the best ERP solutions to companies.
Moreover, I appreciate how Accenture cultivates the asset it considers most important, its people. Through trainings and projects, I’m constantly exposed to new ideas, technologies and innovations. I become not only well-versed in cutting-edge technologies, but also relevant and competitive in my industry.
In my downtime, I read books, mostly fiction. Once a year, I travel to a new country to explore. I also love to go on solo hiking trips. Just recently, I went on a three-week trek around the Annapurna sanctuary in Nepal.
