I design solutions to solve my clients’ procurement issues, which usually involves helping them increase savings and drive transparency and accountability. Specifically, I look at a client’s procurement requirements and translate them into a cost-efficient solution. I define the scope of services we will provide to the client and come up with cost estimates.
I work with a lot of groups to make sure that we smoothly implement the solutions we propose within the agreed timelines. These include Sales, Legal and Operations teams.
Learn more about Operations Careers.I jump-start my day with a team meeting to get status updates on the current projects we’re working on. Collaboration is a big part of my role, so I usually use Microsoft Teams to share ideas with colleagues. To communicate with teammates based in different locations, Skype is the way to go because it’s a convenient, easy-to-use chat tool.
Throughout the day, I jump into client meetings to discuss procurement challenges and solution updates. My usual tasks include handling solution sign-offs, which means I get inputs from the involved Operating Groups on the client’s business objectives, budget, preferences and risk assessment.
To ensure solution delivery, I draft work plans, resource planning proposals and quality assurance systems. My keen attention to details helps a lot when I’m hammering out a lot of elements in the solution my team and I are designing.
I’m proud to work with a flexible team who each bring in different skill sets and expertise. The collaborative culture at work empowers us to work as a team and fairly share the responsibilities according to our roles.
After a day’s work, I practice yoga to de-stress and recharge my body and mind.

If you sometimes think that you don’t know the answer to a question, it’s okay. This is where your colleagues’ expertise comes in. Don’t be afraid to ask for their help and insights. Asking for assistance means you’re willing to learn and work with the team. Doing so also lets you leverage your teammates’ strengths, enabling them to work on what they do best. If everyone in the team gets to embrace what they’re good at, expect better results and a more motivated group.
