The Practice – A Brief Sketch 

You will be part of Strategy & Consulting (S&C) Global Network High-Tech (GN-HT) semiconductor practice. As a member of S&C GN-HT semiconductor practice, you will be a core member of a team of over 10 consultants. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on all areas of the semiconductor value chain: fabless, IDMs/foundries, OEMs and OSAT companies. 

 

Let’s infuse fresh thinking in the systems and turn new ideas into reality. As a part of the team, you’ll help drive the following: 

  • Lead market research & analysis to identify trends & opportunities in semiconductor industry. Analyse client’s business, market, competitors and make appropriate inferences. Also, interpret data in context of industry and company specific issues.  

  • Provide support to the client facing teams and/or handle client projects directly. 

  • Participate in the development of thought leadership content, including white papers & presentations, on semiconductor topics 

  • Support and drive projects focused on fab operations and manufacturing excellence, including process mapping, yield management, and defect reduction. 

  • Apply knowledge of semiconductor process steps (e.g., lithography, diffusion, CMP, etch, metrology) to assess client challenges and improvement levers. 

  • Analyze yield/test data from fab and backend to generate actionable insights using tools such as Python, Tableau, Excel or JMP. 

  • Contribute to digital factory transformation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams on initiatives involving MES systems, SPC, and automation. 

  • Conduct benchmarking, competitive analysis, and diagnostics to evaluate client maturity across operations. 

  • Build client-ready deliverables and support the project manager in managing timelines and workstreams. 

  • Work in global, distributed teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

  • Deep understanding of semiconductor front-end processes and cleanroom manufacturing dynamics 

  • Familiarity with yield monitoring, test correlation techniques and common fab KPIs 

  • Comfort with data analysis and visualization tools (Python, Tableau, Excel, JMP or equivalent)  

Key Qualifications:

For Analyst: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related field 

  • 2–5 years of experience in a semiconductor fab or in a data/quality engineering role 

  • Exposure to fab operations, yield reporting or test engineering functions 

For Consultant: 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (Engineering or Applied Science preferred) 

  • 5–9 years of industry experience, ideally in IDM, foundry or fabless environment 

  • Prior consulting exposure or transformation project participation is highly desirable 

  • Ability to independently run workstreams and engage with stakeholders
