Job Title: Developer BE – Digital Banking

Experience Level: L2 (4–5 years)

Domain: Digital Banking

Sub-Domain: Retail Banking

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Backend Developer to support backend services within our Retail Digital Banking division. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, and a strong understanding of backend integration patterns and API development. You will work in a fast-paced, Unix-based environment and contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable banking applications interfacing with Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, testers, and business teams to implement retail banking features.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for Oracle DB.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and monitoring on WebLogic Server.
  • Develop and debug backend components in Linux, HPUX, or Solaris environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Assist with DevOps pipelines and deployment automation (good to have).
  • Support existing integrations using Spring Batch, Camel (CXF), or JSP (if applicable).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 4–5 years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience with Oracle database development (SQL, stored procedures).
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux-based OS (HPUX, Linux, or Solaris).
  • Understanding of REST APIs and web services.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Familiarity with Apache Camel (CXF) and Spring Batch.
  • Exposure to JSP and WebLogic Server.
  • Basic Unix shell scripting and JavaScript skills.
  • Knowledge of Digital Banking workflows and systems.
