Role Overview:
The Payroll Consultant supports end-to-end payroll processing and related timekeeping and accounting activities, ensuring accurate pay calculations, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely issue resolution. The role partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to validate payroll inputs, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support payroll integrations and reporting, with a strong focus on Mexican and/or U.S. payroll environments.
Key Responsibilities
Execute and support payroll processes including calculations, payroll incidents/adjustments, payroll history maintenance, and exception resolution.
Validate payroll inputs from timekeeping systems (incidents, approvals, and integrations) and reconcile results to ensure accuracy.
Apply and interpret labor and payroll rules (e.g., hours, overtime, PTO/leave, permissions) and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., state requirements in the U.S., local requirements in Mexico as applicable).
Support payroll compliance activities, audits, and documentation, escalating risks and issues as needed.
Collaborate on General Ledger (GL) activities related to payroll, including payroll accounting, reconciliation, and payroll-to-GL interfaces.
Partner with internal teams and external providers (e.g., vendor payroll, outsourcing, shared services) to coordinate payroll cycles, data exchanges, and issue resolution.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes of recurring issues and recommending process or control enhancements.
Requisitos
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience in payroll operations with strong functional knowledge of payroll processes, calculations, incidents/adjustments, payroll history, and compliance controls.
Experience with Mexican payroll and/or U.S. payroll (preferred exposure includes vendor payroll, outsourcing, or shared services environments).
Knowledge of timekeeping processes (incident management, validation, and payroll integrations).
Understanding of payroll-related GL concepts (payroll accounting, reconciliations, and interfaces).
Advanced English (written and spoken) to work effectively with global stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting UKG solutions (e.g., UKG Pro, UKG Workforce Central, UKG Dimensions) or similar HR/payroll platforms.
Experience with payroll reporting, controls, and audit support.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to resolve issues using data and process knowledge.
Clear communication skills and customer-focused collaboration with HR, Finance, and Operations partners.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
