David Dalling is the Cyber Chief Technology Officer at Accenture Federal Services (AFS) for the cybersecurity practice across the US Federal Department of Defense, Intelligence community, Public Safety, Civilian and Health sectors. He leads the development, design, delivery, and operations of innovative cybersecurity solutions for clients with wide-ranging missions. David leads a dedicated team of advanced cybersecurity professionals who work to apply automation, cloud and AI to help agencies defend systems, be responsive to changing mission demands, and be more resilient in the face of persistent threats.
David brings more than 15 years of experience as a versatile subject matter expert in Information Technology (IT) Security and IT Operations. His expertise with government and the public sector runs the gamut – from performing security risk assessments and building complex security programs to architecting new solutions and developing exceptional security operations centers.
Prior to joining Accenture Federal Services, David served as the Vice President of IT and acting Chief Information Officer for Defense Point Security, Inc., a company that was acquired by Accenture in 2016.
In this role, David achieved; the Splunk Partner of the year award, developed and deployed the first common control package for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for HP’s Data Center 2 General Support System (GSS). He assisted in the DHS HQ achieving the highest related security score in the department and developed a Metrics program that has now evolved in the Accenture Security Metrics called “detection and Response Confidence” (DR-C) rating. His work at DHS HQ earned him the Security Engineer of the year award for DHS HQ. For the past few years David was the Visionary and Technology lead for Accenture’s Managed Extended Detection and Response (XDR) service, which is the first of its kind to achieve FedRAMP authorization.
David is a certified PMP and CISSP professional and has his MBA from the University of Phoenix. In his free time, David stays active by running or mountain biking across all types of terrain and coach’s baseball/softball for his kids.
