Cathinka Wahlstrom is Accenture’s senior managing director of Financial Services for North America, which serves clients in Capital Markets, Banking and Insurance. Ms. Wahlstrom’s vision is to be the premier innovation and execution partner of financial services companies in Canada and the United States. She is responsible for setting the group’s overall vision and strategy, focusing on building long-term client relationships and creating sustainable sales and revenue growth.
With more than 20 years of experience consulting to the world’s largest universal banks, investment banks, payments companies and exchanges, Ms. Wahlstrom’s work has spanned mergers and acquisitions, organization restructuring and business change, cost-reduction programs, and digital and technology initiatives. She has worked extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Previously, Ms. Wahlstrom held a variety of other leadership roles, including the North America Banking Client Service Group; the Finance & Performance Management practice in the Financial Services Northeast region; and the office managing partner for metro New York. She has built and led Accenture’s relationship with some of the world’s largest financial services companies, and she remains the executive sponsor for several clients. She has led the firm’s global cross-industry Diamond Client Forum, focused on growing the firm’s largest clients and further strengthening client relationships. Ms. Wahlstrom has also played an important role in Accenture’s own strategic planning efforts and company-wide operating model changes.
Ms. Wahlstrom is involved in a variety of mentoring, diversity and civic initiatives. She is the President of the Accenture Foundation and she sits on the board of the New York City Ballet. She also provides executive coaching to Robin Hood Foundation-supported organizations. She is a previous board member of NPower New York, as well as a previous member of the corporate board of the Global Fund for Women. She is an alumnus of the David Rockefeller Fellows Program and a co-founder of FinTech Innovation Labs New York.
Ms. Wahlstrom has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management. She lives in New York City.
