About J.

J. Neely is managing director for Mergers & Acquisitions within Accenture Strategy. His role focuses on working with leading clients on global M&A transformation deals to address the critical issues facing their businesses.

He has 19 years of strategy experience and specializes in M&A and restructurings in the consumer goods, retail, and industrial sectors. Over the past decade, J. has been a prolific author and thought leader on mergers and acquisitions and industry-related topics.

Before joining Accenture, J. was a researcher with M.I.T.’s International Motor Vehicle Program, a founder of a contract research company, and a technology commercialization consultant at an M.I.T. start-up, IBIS associates.

J. holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Alfred University, as well as a Ph.D. in technology, management, and policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he also earned a master’s degree in materials engineering. J. is based in Cleveland, United States.
