Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our Project Control Department as a Senior Cost Controller. Reporting to the Project Control Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all cost control activities for our Clients’ Oil & Gas EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. Your role will ensure that project costs are accurately forecasted, monitored, and controlled to meet budgetary and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
Implement cost control strategies, procedures, and systems to monitor and manage project costs effectively in accordance with Clients’ requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with Clients’ project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to establish project budgets, cost baselines, and financial forecasts.
Coordinate the Project Cost Control Team with onshore and offshore resource to ensure the correct and smooth execution of services in compliance with Clients’ requirements and contractual obligations.
Monitor project expenditures, ensuring alignment with the approved budget and identifying variances and prepare detailed cost reports, including cost variance analysis, cost performance indices and forecasts to completion.
Provide cost estimates and financial assessments for project change orders, variations, and claims.
Assist in the preparation of project financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to project cost control.
Provide guidance and training to junior cost controllers and project team members on cost control methodologies and tools.
Stay updated on industry trends, cost control techniques, and emerging technologies to ensure the application of the latest best practices in cost management.
Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of project costs.
Participate in project risk management processes, identifying potential cost risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Report to Project Control Department about the status of the activities and any organizational issue.
Le tue caratteristiche
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; specialization in Finance, Accounting or a related field is a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry with EPC contractors.
In-depth knowledge of cost control principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
Proficiency in cost control software and tools, such as Primavera, SAP, Oracle Unifier or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret and analyze project cost data, identify trends, and provide insights.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Certification in Cost Management (CCP, CCC, or equivalent) is a plus.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and processes within the Oil & Gas industry. Other than, knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to cost management in this sector.
Willingness to travel as required to project sites, and client locations.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
