How long have you been with Accenture?
I have been with Accenture for over three years.
Tell us about your role and what a typical day looks like for you.
I am the Delivery Lead for the content/ad writing process. I handle a team of over 75 resources who write creative text and display ads for clients. A typical day involves organizing and meeting the client’s operational key responsibilities.
Best thing about your current role?
In my current role, the exposure to the various facets of the role and the liberty to explore new opportunities for a client is extremely satisfying. Over and above, in my role, I have set up a new priority around recruitment for the entire account, which also includes starting a new dimension of outstation hiring. I also manage account-level people engagement through sports, cultural and CSR activities. Also, the responsibility of managing profit and loss through controllable finance management is an added KRA.
What made you choose this profession?
I have 18 years’ experience spanning across operations and transitions. My last stint of seven years was in transitions. Digital marketing was an unexplored area for me. It was a challenge, but I was excited and motivated to pick this new role.
How does Accenture groom you to become a leader?
I have been groomed by a great thought and strategic leader who is my supervisor. The added responsibility over and above operations, ensure that my grooming as a delivery lead is managed in right directions.
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in the industry? What do you wish you had known?
My career advice remains the same for both male and female colleague. The diversity in my process is at 80%, which includes 100% diversity at the Team Lead level.
From your own experience, have you seen an improvement in diversity at Accenture?
I have seen considerable improvement in diversity at Accenture.
How do you balance your work and personal life?
I go with the simple formula—work is important, but when family needs you, they become a priority. However, my second in line is well-groomed to support whenever I need to focus on my personal life. However, on a day to day basis, the work is managed well, given the regular shift hours in office.
