Tell us about your role at Accenture?
As a Project Management Office lead engaged in Business Operations, I manage a global team of more than 300 people along with multiple stakeholders. I act as a conduit between teams and leadership across geographies to keep a pulse on team morale, have an open line of communication and develop a collaborative culture.
What does your typical workday look like?
My morning rituals include basic yoga stretches and light breathing exercises. This is followed by a strong cup of tea where I scour through my emails, catch up on news and check for meeting invites. This is also the time when I plan my actions and reflect. I don’t separate “work” and “life” to balance them – they are in perfect harmony in my mind.
What is the one thing you love about working at Accenture?
The dynamic nature of this organization, which continuously reinvents itself to stay relevant in the market, which in turn “upgrades” us as employees! For instance, Accenture’s focus on inclusion and diversity to build diverse talent groups is far-reaching and commendable with unique programs such as Returning Mothers and High-Tech Women and so on. The best part is Accenture readies itself with the right infrastructure and resources to embrace such tidal changes across the length and breadth of an organization that in turn empower all of us.
Tell us about what you like to do outside office?
I am passionate about life and strongly believe in living it up! I enjoy meeting people, having meaningful conversations and learning from multicultural perspectives. Despite physical limitations, I never let go of any travel opportunity. I also enjoy free-spirited performing arts and like to watch street plays, musicals and stand-up acts.
As a Persons with Disabilities (PwD) advocate, how are you looking to make a difference?
I want to work toward empowering persons with disabilities and advancing disability awareness across the organization and beyond. I make myself available as a coach and mentor to champion this cause and assist others with any kind of disability – be it for themselves or someone at work or home. I want to spread awareness on PwD and instill a deep conviction in them that they can still achieve their goals and lead a happy life.
A gadget you can’t live without
How do you recharge?
Meditation, at least once a day. I have been practicing this for more than 15 years now, it’s part of my routine.
New music band/book/web or tv series/sport which has caught your attention
“All The Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr and I am hooked to Homeland web series.
An advice that sticks with you?
Know thyself. Be true to yourself. And do not take yourself too seriously.
