Application Development Senior Analyst

"A bout of hemiplegia left Parag with limited vision in one eye, but that didn’t bar him from pursuing his dreams of decoding the latest technology."

How I put change in motion

A mechanical engineer who suffered hemiplegia in 2005, I became an Automation Specialist. I have been working in SAP SuccessFactors capability in automation testing and handling the latest in HR automation technology with sheer determination and the support of my family at Accenture and home.

My role enables me to help companies automate HR activities—right from recruitment, onboarding to payroll. Impact? Higher productivity by eliminating the monotony in HR processes and freeing up employees to do value-add work.

In 2019, when I joined Accenture, I was part of the team that worked on an internal digitally integrated platform, myConcerto, which improves productivity by providing automation solutions. Using customized templates, businesses can reduce risk, improve ROI and increase speed to value. The team received the ACE award for this work.

I have recently taken on a project to help a large software company implement and test two modules of SAP SuccessFactors. My role? Automation testing and incorporating timely alerts and compliance requirements across client’s functions. Since it is a self-service, cloud-based tool for managers and employees, HR data management becomes efficient and business gains speed.

A day in my life

My day starts with an early morning brisk walk. I start my workday with a connect with my client and team to assess the work status and discuss the way forward.

Accenture’s ongoing learning culture supports my interests and desire to build new skills. I spend time learning and understanding two programs—Csharp and SpecFlow—that I am using in my work. I have already completed AWS training and certification, and completed the Tosco training and plan to apply for the certification. An empathetic leadership and extraordinary teamwork allow me to balance my work-life better and bring my best self to work.

Off work, I love playing outdoor games with my two children. I wind up the day watching TV with my parents and wife. I have impaired vision in my left eye, but I still manage a little cricket sometimes.

"An empathetic leadership and extraordinary teamwork allow me to balance my work-life better and bring my best self to work."
