Brief Job Description:

The US Tax Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing all US federal, state, and local income tax reporting and compliance, including full cycle from provision through true-up; as well as special projects as needed to identify and mitigate tax exposures and capitalize on opportunities. The Manager will also be expected to help drive process improvement and leverage technology where possible. The Manager will also provide support the audit process when needed (Accenture is in the CAP program).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of all federal tax returns (Form 1120/1065/1120F)
  • Lead international income tax filings (Form 5471/Form 5472/Form 8858), including foreign taxes (Form 1118), BEAT (Form 8991), GILTI (Form 8992), or FDII (Form 8993) inputs and computations.
  • Review and prepare subpart F income inclusion calculations, E&P analysis.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with our compliance outsource provider.
  • Understand and ensure accurate Federal and international reporting requirements under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and OBBBA
  • Manage calculation of book/tax differences, including detail review of calculations and supporting workpapers to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review should include use of prior federal tax compliance experience to identify areas to add value and efficiency to processes.
  • Manage the processes related to quarterly estimated tax payments calculation and filings.
  • Manage processes related to non-income tax and FATCA compliance, including Form 720, Form 1042, and FBAR.
  • Review Forms and statements related to acquisition, integration, and restructuring activities, such as preparation of Forms 8023, 8832, and SS-4.
  • Coordinate with Client engagement teams to identify and complete required documentation for tax purposes, including review of Federal and State Form W-9 and Form W-8 BEN-E.
  • Develop internal relationships with other financial or operational groups to improve our ability to obtain data needed to accurately forecast taxable income.
  • Perform research of federal income tax issues.
  • Supervise the US compliance group analyst and senior associates, including career development and other personnel issues.
  • Manage special projects as needed, including researching technical issues, preparing memoranda, developing, and/or reviewing calculations, collaborating with advisors.
  • Work with the US Tax Planning team to ensure planning ideas are accurately reported in the federal income tax returns.
  • Work with the US Tax Planning team and Tax Accounting team to ensure accurate tax treatment and tax reporting of acquisitions, restructurings, liquidations, and divestitures.
  • Provide assistance to Tax Planning team in analyzing financial models to determine the impact of tax planning ideas on income taxes payable.
  • Coordinate with the Tax Controversy team to ensure workpapers and documentation is consistent with expectations and to support them in resolving notices/IDRs.
  • Ensure all federal tax return files are fully documented and audit ready.
  • Monitor Statute of Limitations issues, including maintenance of comprehensive forecast of statute closings.
  • Manage the compliance calendar and compliance SharePoint site, to ensure information is organized and accessible to members of the US team.
  • Provide assistance to Tax Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely completion of the year-end and quarterly GAAP income tax reporting process for the US.

Mandatory Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)/ CPA/ Enrolled Agent (EA) with 10 years of experience (preferred) or a graduate/ post-graduate in commerce with 13 years of experience in US Tax Compliance and Reporting with multinational companies (MNCs) or a combination of MNCs along with public accounting firms.
  • Strong experience in preparation of US international Tax Forms 5471, 8992, 5472, 8858, Sub F, 1118, 1120-F, 8991, 8993, in order of preference.
  • Experience in US Tax Reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in preparation of US Federal and State Tax Forms (Form 1065, 1120)
  • SAP or other ERP general ledger system experience.
  • Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision.
  • Working knowledge of Alteryx and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience in teaming with third party tax service providers.
