Job summary:
This position is responsible for the support and enhancement of the Power Delivery/Distribution outage management system, Oracle Network Management System (NMS) for Utilities and its associated software applications. The successful candidate will work in a team environment that includes other technology departments and business partners to identify and develop effective solutions to meet and exceed evolving business requirements.
Must have skills:
- Deep knowledge of Utilities industry (grid operations) in Transmission and Distribution especially in Smart Grid Space and Oracle Network Management System
- Experience of maturity assessments and gap analysis for customer impacting processes in the grid operations of Utilities industry
- Strong writing skills and experience of producing high calibre reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent communication skills
Job Description:
- To bring industry knowledge, world class capabilities, innovation and cutting-edge technology to our clients in the Utilities industry to deliver business value.
- Engage with customers, understand the challenges, coordinate with partners, design and develop solutions to address the challenges in the area of smart grid integration into the grid and network management applications like AMI, SCADA, GIS, CIS , IVR, Scheduler, WFM etc
- Design data interfaces between Active network management technologies and range of systems (e.g. GIS, SCADA systems, AMI, CIS) using a range of protocols.
- To provide advisory and hands-on services to clients on solution architecture, gap assessment, estimation and budgeting requirements, E2E implementation and testing for Oracle NMS projects.
- Well versed with Oracle NMS modules such as Web Workspace, Web Call Entry, Storm Management etc.
- Lead and support large Oracle NMS implementation projects in functional and technical capacity, leveraging Utilities domain knowledge and experience in leading solutions.
- To work on configuration of NMS Adapters, Model Build activities, configuring workbooks, setting up extractors for GIS systems, defining event workflows, implementation of communication protocols, and accurate data mapping of attributes from source system like GIS, CIS in large scale implementation and upgrade projects.
- Work requires travel to client site for project work across geographies.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert for Oracle NMS – application, business process, data, workflow, reporting, etc.
- Performing systems and data analysis
- Document and deliver solutions.
- Application monitoring and troubleshooting
- Work closely with the Distribution business unit to identify application enhancements to improve business processes

- The candidate must be available for after hours on-call support. Some travel required.
Experience: 3-6 years
- Should have experience around ADMS implementation project.
- Strong skills around Outage Management System / Distribution Management System / SCADA System implementation.
- Significant expertise required with Linux, Oracle and/or SQL Server databases, WebLogic, Java, etc. Associated suite of products: Reporting Services, Integration Services, etc.
- Experience in setting up of OT Architecture and Installation of Oracle NMS environments with HA/DR configuration
- Strong experience in Network model build activities from GIS data
- Experience in Data Conversion of ADMS system from different vendors
- Configuring Advanced DMS apps such as Power Flow, Feeder Load Management, etc.
- Configure and Customize OMS application as per the requirement
- Experience in integrating core applications like SCADA, CIS and GIS with ADMS system
- Power Delivery experience either directly or in a support role strongly desired
- Utility business knowledge and ability to build relationships with key personnel helpful
- Application development lifecycle experience desired
- Relevant experience working with n-tiered applications desired
Educational Qualification: B.E / B Tech strongly preferred. Major in Electrical, Computer Science, or other technical field preferred.
