Job Description
The Technical Accounting Manager will work within the Global Controllership function with a series of responsibilities.
Job Summary
- Provide technical accounting support for our Accenture business teams.
- Support Senior Managers within the U. S. GAAP Technical Accounting Team, CFO, Controller, Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting Policy to help ensure consistent application and compliance with Accenture accounting policies.
- Complete quarterly financial reporting for SEC filings and external reporting purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to general technical accounting/Policy inquiries submitted to the U.S. GAAP team by Finance employees via the ServiceNow platform. Conduct technical accounting research as needed.
- Assist Senior Managers within the technical accounting team to conduct accounting research and compliance activities for transaction/situation and provide feedback and advice on appropriate accounting treatment
- Lead the process for quarterly internal and external reporting of the Company’s third-party indemnifications and guarantees, including working with the various groups within Finance to prepare detailed and summary schedules for the Company’s external auditors and its’ CFO.
- Support the Company’s year-end audit by preparing analyses for external auditors, including the annual embedded derivative. Assist external auditors and Senior Managers within the technical accounting team, during quarterly review and annual audit process.
- Manage the functionality of the ServiceNow platform, including fostering ideas and opportunities for automation, simplification and analytics.
- Act as internal controls liaison for Global Controllership to ensure quarterly control testing and assessments are performed on a timely basis.
- Assist the Technical Accounting team with the preparation, development and/or delivery of U.S. GAAP and Policy training.
Lead/participate in other special projects or assist other groups within Global Controllership as needed. Including fostering ideas and opportunities to automate quarterly processes through AI, excel macros etc
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree (accounting or finance preferred)
- CPA, Chartered Accountancy or like designation required
- Mixture of public accounting (Big Four preferred), industry experience that includes SEC reporting or technical accounting responsibilities (not necessarily in services industry), and/or Accenture experience
Additional Preferred Skill Requirements:
- 5+ years of Finance experience, including public accounting experience or industry experience that includes accounting responsibilities such as technical accounting research or SEC reporting
