Summary:
Senior Software Engineer (Java / Python) – Cloud Native & AWS. As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves leading the design, development, and configuration of software applications. The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and operate cloud native services and data processing components that enable sourcing, processing, and calculation of enterprise metrics on AWS. The role requires strong engineering judgement, production ownership, and collaboration across DevOps, Data Engineering, and Architecture teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Backend & Service Development: Design and develop scalable backend services, batch jobs, and APIs using Java and/or Python.
- Build services to: Ingest and process enterprise data sources, Support metric computation logic, Expose data securely for reporting and analytics.
- Apply strong engineering standards: clean code, testing, documentation, and reusability , Cloud Native & Containerised Workloads
- Build and deploy applications using Docker.
- Operate services on Kubernetes (EKS), including configuration, scaling, and resilience.
- Implement secrets management, configuration, and resource optimisation for containers.
- Data & Metrics Integration: Implement business logic related to- Change events and deployment data, System interfaces and dependencies, Data product mappings, Risk and control relationships and Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate services with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3 based data platforms.
- Quality, Reliability & Leadership: Write and maintain unit, integration, and component tests, Participate actively in code reviews and design discussions, Support production issues and drive root cause analysis and Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Java Full Stack Development.
- Strong development experience in Java and/or Python.
- Solid hands on experience with: AWS (Lambda, S3, EKS, IAM, CloudWatch), Docker and container based development and Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, configuration).
- Should have experience designing and operating REST APIs or backend services in production also with data platforms, analytics, or metrics processing.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud native patterns.
- Should have familiarity with SQL, Athena, or Spark-based workflows and have exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps collaboration.
- Should have experience working in regulated or large enterprise environments.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5–12 years of professional software engineering experience with Java Full Stack Development.
- This position is based at our Gurugram office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
