Summary: As a Custom Software Engineer, you will design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. Your typical day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, developing user-friendly interfaces, and ensuring that applications are optimized for performance and usability. You will also engage in problem-solving activities to address any technical challenges that arise during the development process, ensuring that the final product aligns with the needs of the business and its users. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in frontend development. 2. Collaborate directly with key business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, evaluate alternatives, and provide innovative, out-of-the-box approaches. 3. Develop, test, and deploy business requirements following industry’s best practices. Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and guide team members in resolving technical challenges. 4. Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. 5. Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. 6. Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. 7. Continuously evaluate and improve development processes to increase efficiency. Professional & Technical Skills: 1. Strong experience in web development. 2. Hands-on expertise with JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as ReactJS, Redux, advanced JavaScript, HTML, CSS, DOM concepts, and RESTful APIs. Solid understanding of framework lifecycle, events, JavaScript object modeling, reusable libraries, and DOM manipulation. Familiarity with testing frameworks, code quality tools, and DevOps practices. 3. Knowledge of NodeJS core concepts and experience with front-end build tools like Babel, WebPack, NPM, YARN. Exposure to GraphQL, VueJS, Grunt, and Gulp is an advantage. 4. Proficiency in TypeScript, Next.js, and unit testing using Jest. Good to have skills: 1. Familiarity with Commerce Tools, Algolia, Hybris, Talon-One. 2. Knowledge of Generative AI tools such as Amazon Q, Copilot, etc. Additional Information: 1. The candidate should have minimum 7 years of experience. 2. Experience leading a team of 4–6 developers. Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders across organizational levels. Excellent active listening, multitasking, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Logical problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions based on established procedures and guidelines. 3. Self-motivated, disciplined, and accountable for deliverables. Hands-on experience in incident and problem management within multi-supplier environments. Results-driven, service-oriented, and adept at working with cross-functional teams. Ability to design architecture and propose solutions, including tech stack identification. Experience in RFP estimations is desirable.
