Infra Tech Support Practitioner
Project Role Description : Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary: As an Infra Tech Support Practitioner, you will engage in the ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products of Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server. Your typical day will involve addressing various technical issues, providing solutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of configured services across multiple platforms. You will work both remotely and onsite, collaborating with team members to enhance system performance and reliability while adhering to established operating models and processes. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Manage and administer Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server environments. - Perform database provisioning, configuration, and migration (from on-premises or Azure Single Server to Flexible Server). - Implement and monitor backups, Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), and high availability configurations. - Configure and manage Logical Replication and Foreign Data Wrapper (FDW) for cross-database connectivity and data synchronization. - Set up and manage cron jobs for database maintenance tasks such as cleanup, vacuum, and monitoring scripts. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems. - Assist in the implementation of technology at the operating system level across all server and network areas. - Engage in basic and intermediate level troubleshooting for hardware and software issues. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in PostgreSQL Administration. - Strong understanding of database management and optimization techniques. - Experience with backup and recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases. - Experience with Logical Replication, FDW (Foreign Data Wrapper), and cron job scheduling. - Backup & Recovery: PITR, Azure Backup, pg_dump/pg_restore. - Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring tools for PostgreSQL. - Knowledge of SQL query optimization and indexing strategies. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in PostgreSQL Administration. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
