Summary: Work closely with client for DB requirements, performance, and integration issues and provide better solutions or approach along with capacity planning. Responsible for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in relation to CPU, I/O, Memory, and DB Architecture. Responsible for Database migration;onprem to onprem or to cloud. Day-to-Day Production DB support and maintenance of diffent versions of PostgreSQL. Roles & Responsibilities: -Primary : PostgreSQL DBA - **Database Management:** Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL database servers, ensuring optimal performance and availability. - **Performance Tuning:** Monitor and optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and memory usage. - **Backup & Recovery:** Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. - **Security Management:** Implement and manage database security policies, including user management, access control, and encryption. - **Data Migration:** Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime. - **Automation & Scripting:** Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl. - **High Availability:** Design and implement high-availability solutions, including replication and failover strategies. - **Monitoring:** Set up and maintain monitoring systems to track database performance and alert on issues. - **Compliance:** Ensure database operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). - **Collaboration:** Work closely with developers and IT teams to optimize application performance and resolve database-related issues. - **Documentation:** Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and processes. Professional & Technical Skills: -Strong problem solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical employees and with vendors of system related products. Work closely with team and be an active contributing member. Flexible in shifts. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 7.5 years of experience in PostgreSQL. - This position is based at our Gurugram office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
