Summary: As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements using Google BigQuery. Your typical day will involve working with the development team, analyzing business requirements, and developing solutions to meet those requirements. Role Description Details: • This role involves working with various data sources, ensuring data quality, and creating efficient data pipelines for analytics and business intelligence purposes • Data Engineers at this level are expected to operate with a moderate level of autonomy, demonstrating a good understanding of data engineering principles and practices Key responsibilities: Data Architecture Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design effective data architectures. Develop and maintain data models, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity. Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement data pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources. Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing. Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data. Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to understand data quality requirements. Database Management: Manage databases, including schema design, indexing, and optimization for performance. Ensure data security, compliance, and privacy standards are maintained. Tool and Technology Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the field of data engineering. Utilize a variety of data engineering tools and technologies to meet business objectives. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, explaining complex concepts in a clear manner. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, workflows, and data dictionaries. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Professional & Technical Skills: • Proven experience in data engineering, including designing and implementing data solutions • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and data manipulation tools • Familiarity with data storage and processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, relational databases) • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Contribute to schema design, indexing, and optimization for performance • Good communication and interpersonal skills - Must To Have Skills: Experience with Google BigQuery. - Must To Have Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with other cloud-based data warehousing solutions. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with ETL tools. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with data modeling and database design.
