What would you do? "Key Responsibilities • Managing the Instrumentation & Control discipline Team assigned to one or more projects. • Taking the responsibilities of the Deliverables assigned to the Instrumentation & Control Team • Managing the inter discipline approval for Instrumentation & Control discipline. • Provide the comments to other discipline for deliverables having interconnection with the instrumentation and control design (e.g.: plant lay out, equipment list, site preparation drawings, etc.). • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines, such as process, electrical, and mechanical, to ensure proper integration and coordination of instrumentation and control systems with other project components. • Validating the accuracy and completeness of the data as per client data requirement standards • Liaise with the IT team and infrastructure to ensure deliverables are not hampered and collaborate with engineers to develop appropriate solutions to meet client and project requirements. • Work with project teams and technical leads to understand business requirements and design specifications • Ensure the compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in instrumentation & control engineering. • Coordinate and manage the execution of the following activities within the instrumentation & control engineering team: - Developing control system designs, including process control narratives, control loop diagrams, and instrument index based on project specifications, codes, and standards. Selecting and specifying instrumentation devices, such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, level sensors, control valves, analyzers, and other instruments, based on project requirements and technical specifications. Creating instrumentation diagrams, including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) mechanization in strict coordination with process and piping engineering, loop diagrams, instrument location plans, and instrument hookup drawings, to illustrate the interconnections and control loops of the process. - Sizing instrumentation devices and control valves based on process requirements, including flow rates, pressure drops, and control system dynamics. Developing control narratives that define the control philosophy, alarm and trip settings, interlocks, and safety systems for the process. - Preparing instrument data sheets that include specifications,"
What are we looking for? "We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Service Group as a Instrumentation & Control Engineering Discipline Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Instrumentation & Control Engineering Teams of 10 or more members within the Service Group which provides engineering services for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors in the Oil & Gas industry. You will oversee the Instrumentation & Control deliverables timelines on projects. While also interfacing with our home office in Italy, where our clients reside. Your expertise in instrumentation & control engineering and cross-cultural communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintaining strong client relationships. •Qualifications and skills: • A bachelor’s degree in electronic or instrumentation/automation engineering. Master’s Degree is a plus. • 9 to 12 years of experience in the role working in the Oil & Gas industry. Roles and Responsibilities: "•Preparing instrument data sheets that include specifications, vendor information, calibration requirements, and installation details for each instrument in the project. - Reviewing and approving vendor submittals for instrumentation devices, control systems, and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements and technical specifications. - Defining the interface requirements and communication protocols between the instrumentation devices and the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) or Distributed Control Systems (DCS) used for process control. - Creating material requisitions for instrumentation devices, control systems, and associated components, including specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements, to support the procurement process. - Evaluating technical bids received from vendors for instrumentation devices, control systems, and associated equipment, and providing recommendations for selection based on compliance with specifications, quality, and project requirements. - Creating 3D models of instrumentation devices, control panels, control room layouts, and associated components using specialized software such as Smart Plant 3D or similar. - Defining and overseeing the calibration and testing requirements for instrumentation devices, ensuring accuracy and reliability of the measurements. - Performing studies such as Safety Instrumented System (SIS) analysis, control system optimization, and reliability analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of the instrumentation and control systems. - Developing detailed construction documents, including instrumentation drawings, instrument wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and installation details, to guide the construction and installation activities. - Providing technical support during the construction phase, including responding to queries, reviewing and approving shop drawings. - Preparing as-built drawings and documentation that accurately reflect the final installed instrumentation and control systems, incorporating any changes or modifications made during the construction phase. - Maintaining accurate project documentation, including progress reports, design calculation records, technical specifications, and other relevant documentation.
