What would you do? We are seeking an experienced and proactive Planning Tower Lead to oversee project control services for our Oil & Gas EPC Contractors clients. As a Planning Tower Lead, you will play a critical role in managing project schedules and delivering precise and timely reports to ensure successful project execution. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and implementation to align projects with the company’s objectives. You will lead a team of planners and collaborate with various departments, both onshore and offshore, to ensure smooth project execution and efficient resource allocation. Investment project management and control capabilities related to grid assets to enable the energy transition (e.g. transmission interconnections).
What are we looking for? • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master s degree is a plus. • 10+ years experience in project control and scheduling, preferably within the oil and gas industry. • Strong knowledge of project control and planning principles, methodologies, and best practices. The understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of the oil and gas sector is preferable. • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate the team. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating schedule risks specific to the oil and gas industry. • Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools, including scheduling software commonly used in the oil and gas sector (Oracle P6 is a must). • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders within the geographically dispersed and diverse nature of onshore and offshore teams. • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to project control in the oil and gas sector. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Willingness to travel as required to project sites, and client locations. • Proficiency in written and spoken English. Roles and Responsibilities: • Coordinate the Offshore Planning Team • Deploy project control strategies and processes tailored to the specific needs of oil and gas EPC contractors, implementing their processes and systems. • Apply the coordination procedures and ensure the adherence to contractual requirements and obligations. • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and key milestones, considering the unique challenges of the oil and gas industry. • Lead the development and maintenance of project schedules, incorporating all critical activities, interfaces, and resource requirements for engineering, procurement and construction scopes. • Support our clients monitoring and analyze project progress, identifying schedule deviations, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement. • Collaborate closely with internal and clients’ procurement and supply chain teams to track and manage project procurement activities. • Provide regular and accurate project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators, risks, and mitigation strategies, adopting clients’ template and systems. • Conduct project performance analysis, evaluating schedule variances, and recommending corrective actions as necessary. • Develop and maintain project control documentation, including procedures, guidelines, and templates, customized to address the specific demands of oil and gas projects. • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project teams, clients, and stakeholders regarding project planning activities and progress. • Provide guidance and support to project control staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality service delivery specific to the oil and gas industry. • Work closely with the Project Control Domain Lead to ensure alignment between the Onshore and Offshore parties. • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in project control and reporting within the oil and gas sector.
