What would you do? We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Service Group as a Electrical 3D Modeler/Draftsman. In this role, you will be contributing to the execution of the 3D modelling and the preparation of electrical engineering drawings and documents, within the Service Group which provides engineering services for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors in the Oil & Gas industry. Your understanding in electrical design modelling and communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintaining strong client relationships.
What are we looking for? Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in electrical engineering. Specialization or coursework in CAD drafting and 3D modeling is advantageous. • 4+ years’ experience as electrical engineering draftsman/3D modeler. Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry and/or with EPC contractors is preferential. • Strong proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and in Electrical Design tools like SP3D, Smart Plant Electrical, SPEL and similar. • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical engineering schemes and diagrams. • Effective communication skills to effectively collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to address design issues, incorporate design changes, and ensure coordination with other disciplines. • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multinational environment.
Roles and Responsibilities: Reviewing and interpreting electrical engineering drawings, such as single line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, and cable routing drawings. • Creating detailed electrical drawings, including wiring diagrams, lighting layouts, control panel layouts, cable schedules, and grounding plans, using computer-aided design (CAD) software. • Incorporating design changes and markups into existing drawings and ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards and specifications. • Developing 3D models of electrical systems, equipment, and components using software such as Smart Plant 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or other 3D modeling tools. • Creating 3D visualizations of electrical systems for project presentations, coordination, and clash detection with other disciplines. • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines, such as civil, mechanical, and instrumentation, to ensure clash-free design and coordination of electrical systems. • Generating detailed drawings and models for cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, panels, and other electrical components. • Incorporating as-built information and field modifications into electrical drawings and models. • Collaborating with electrical engineers and designers to resolve design issues, optimize layouts, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. • Assisting in the preparation of electrical material take-offs (MTOs), bill of quantities (BOQs), and material requisitions. • Reviewing vendor drawings and documentation for electrical equipment and components. • Assisting in the preparation of construction documents, including specifications, installation details, and technical submittals for electrical systems. • Participating in design reviews and coordination meetings to address technical issues, provide support, and ensure proper implementation of electrical designs. • Adhering to project schedules and deadlines for the completion of drafting and modeling deliverables. • Maintaining and organizing drawing files, models, and documentation in accordance with company standards. • Document the modeling process for future reference and audits.
