Senior Manager in Applied Intelligence

A Senior Manager in ‘Applied intelligence –understands the importance of sound analytical decision-making, relationship of tasks to the overall project, and executes projects in the context of a business performance improvement initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Management: Manage a large team of 20-30 people including managers and lead data scientists; Create processes to manage well via managers and leads for high productivity, high engagement, and low attrition; Design and implement initiatives to improve the team morale, camaraderie, and collaboration; Work well with the team members to maintain high credibility, respect, and fairness as measured in GPTW and internal surveys
Contribute to building of an organization, beyond own department; Implement office-wide processes for the team and contribute ideas and feedback to those discussions; Take up management responsibilities of initiatives which impact all teams
• Client projects and Internal development: Leadership role in complex data science projects in area of expertise and work as solutions architect on projects; Analytics lead on major client projects responsible for data science application development and its productionization; Take responsibility for requirements gathering, solution design, development, and developing a production level data science solution; Guide team members on project work and take responsibility for the analytics deliverables; Initiate, conceptualize, and deliver accelerators with best practices and proof-of-concept work to test new data science algorithms or features
• Sales Support: Work with sales team to develop proposals and resourcing plans in area of expertise, present to potential clients in sales calls, bringing together information on past projects, and join meetings to handle detailed discussions in area of expertise
• Data Science Practice: Take leadership role in a Center of Excellence to set strategic direction and develop capability and team members who can deliver the capability; Work with data science leadership to grow data science expertise and lead training for the team, identifying skill gaps, select external content and certification and lead development of internal training content; Develop implementation guidelines, quality control procedures, and documentation for projects; Ensure adherence of the best practices in the project

Qualifications

Educational Background/qualifications • B Tech/M Tech from reputed engineering colleges • Masters/M Tech in Computer Science • Master degree in Statistics/Econometrics/ Economics from reputed institute • M.Phil/Ph.D in Statistics/Econometrics or related field. Requirements: • Strong on leadership skills and values like delighting customers, taking initiative, being trustworthy, and working collaboratively • 3 or more years of managing large teams; Experience of managing managers and leads and maintaining a high performing team via them • 12-15 years of data science experience using statistics, machine learning, or forecasting • Master level skills in one or more of machine learning (like Decision Trees, Gradient Boosting, Random Forest, and Neural Networks), time series forecasting techniques (ESM, ARIMAX, LSTM), statistics, optimization • Expertise in solution development on the cloud using AWS, GCP, or Azure, including certifications in at least one of them • Exceptional communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to business audiences • Ability to work effectively in global teams and customers in different time zones • Expertise in one or more domains; Retail, CPG, FMCG, consumer goods or manufacturing Soft Skills • Strong problem soling skills • Good team player • Attention to details
