GETTING TO 50/50
Our goal is to create a 50/50 gender-balanced workforce by 2025, and enabled by Vaahini—our networking forum for women professionals—we are making steady progress. The platform is helping us create holistic experiences that empower women to grow, personally and professionally. Through programs such as High-Tech Women and Grow Women in Leadership, we are nurturing future women leaders and leveling the playing field for them. Moreover, initiatives like Returning Mothers program and Career Reboot are providing crucial support and tools women need to seamlessly reintegrate back into the workforce after a break.
We are enabling change for our people with visible and invisible disabilities to perform at their full potential. How? By thinking accessible—whether it’s deploying assistive technologies or providing reasonable accommodations with workplace adjustments and transport arrangements. And with accessibility tools that allows all our people to contribute equally. Currently, 75% of our applications are accessible. What’s more, at the India Accessibility Center of Excellence, we are constantly working on making technology more inclusive. With programs like Abilities Unleashed, we are helping our persons with disabilities explore career opportunities they may not have considered before and become authentic leaders and role models.
Empowering all our people to live authentically and putting their well-being first, irrespective of gender identity or sexual orientation, are top priorities for us. Wherever possible, we provide identical employee benefits to same-sex and opposite-sex partners. We are leading change in the country with policies and benefits focused on the caregiver rather than marital status or gender. Partners of our LGBTIQ+ people enjoy insurance benefits; transmen who can bear children can avail the 26-week maternity leave; and all secondary caregivers no matter their gender are eligible for paternal, surrogacy and adoption leave. We are also breaking barriers with programs like the Accenture Inclusive Internship, which is all about hands-on experience and relevant work experience to build future careers for young transgenders and other marginalized youth.
Our support for mental health and disability inclusion accelerates our culture of equality and helps everyone to thrive. With our Let's Talk program, we are breaking down the stigma around mental health by encouraging open, honest conversations—with family, friends, colleagues or our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) experts—and building mental resilience for our people. EAP offers 24/7 free and confidential services which is extended to the families of our people as well. It helps our people with a variety of issues such as managing stress at home or workplace, legal and financial issues and relationship problems.
