Accenture stands in solidarity with India

We are working relentlessly with our NGO partners to help our communities overcome challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our relief measures which are spread across 18 states in India follow the below three priorities:

Together with our NGO partners, we are working to setup 5,000+ oxygenated hospital beds and 30+ oxygen plants and other critical care equipment at government and charitable hospitals. We are working with YouWeCan Foundation to augment capacities in government as well as charitable hospitals across the country. Supporting the foundation’s #Mission1000Beds initiative, we will together establish critical care beds across Rohru and Theog in Himachal Pradesh, Bikaner in Rajasthan, Madurai in Tamil Nadu and New Delhi. To begin with, we have added 120 critical care unit (CCU) beds at Government Medical College & General Hospital in Nizamabad, Telangana. Our support for this initiative covers medical equipment such as BiPAP machines, ICU ventilators, patient monitors, crash carts and oxygen cylinders for the hospital.

To reduce the strain on the healthcare ecosystem, we have distributed COVID-19 care kits and food supplies to more than 120,000 people, extended home care services, mental health counseling and care for the elderly; and supported NGO partners to train more than 100,000 community health workers to provide medical guidance and support to 60 lakh+ underprivileged families in India.

We are committed to helping protect lives through vaccine deployment. We prioritized providing vaccines to members of hard-to-reach communities in India, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, the LGBTI community, blue-collar workers and migrants. With support from our NGO partners, we have already vaccinated over 7 million people. We have also worked with organizations offering mobile vaccination vans to reach residents in remote geographic areas and are building awareness to reduce vaccine hesitancy.

WeAct to change lives

We're continually finding new ways of building a more inclusive world where everyone can thrive. Enabling rural women to live better lives through our WeAcT initiative is one way we are doing that.

Launched in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, the platform provides members access to resources, connects them with marketplaces and peers, and helps them expand their enterprises. Whether it’s building their presence on e-commerce sites or facilitating virtual buyer-seller meets, WeAcT is empowering women to tap the opportunities digital brings.

Making a tangible impact: WeAct has touched the lives of 3,000 women entrepreneurs since its launch in March 2020. Working together with five partner institutions, we’ve helped them increase their revenues by up to 32 percent. Another proud moment? When we helped 60 women microentrepreneurs turn adversity into opportunity during the pandemic and fulfill an order of 100,000 masks for the Tamil Nadu government.
