J. Neely is managing director for Mergers & Acquisitions within Accenture Strategy. His role focuses on working with leading clients on global M&A transformation deals to address the critical issues facing their businesses. Mr. Neely has 19 years of strategy experience, being the global M&A transformation lead, specializing in M&A and restructurings in consumer, retail, and industrial sectors. He has supported transactions in fast-moving consumer goods, healthcare, durable home goods, building products, home building, specialty retailing, and automotive sectors, among others. And he has worked with publicly traded and privately held corporations across the deals cycle on global and regional efforts.
Over the past decade, Mr. Neely has published a steady stream of content on deals and industry-related topics.
He holds a Ph.D. in technology, management, and policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he also earned a master’s degree in materials engineering. He has an engineering B.A. from Alfred University. He was previously a researcher with M.I.T.’s International Motor Vehicle Program, a founder of a contract research company and technology commercialization consultant at an M.I.T. start-up, IBIS associates.
