CLIENT CASE STUDY

Enhanced Digital Services
Chemical company improves communications
and knowledge sharing via a cloud-based portal

01

Overview

A large chemical company sought to build a corporate portal and intranet.

The objective was to create a key knowledge-sharing tool for its employees. Accenture worked with the company to provide digital communication essentials delivered through Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, with an entire portal successfully developed from scratch in three months. The company saw increased knowledge sharing and enhanced communications, and created a foundation for operating as a digitally-enabled business.

How We
Helped

With deep experience in cloud computing and demonstrated expertise in delivering Microsoft-based solutions, the chemical company turned to Accenture for help in moving away from its existing, siloed knowledge-sharing solution.

Since the company was in the process of building a datacenter that would not be functional for several years, a cloud platform was selected to provide rapid deployment of services and easy access for employees, as well as reduce the need for substantial infrastructure.

Accenture worked with the company to provide essential digital communication tools—including Lync, OneDrive for Business, Yammer and SharePoint—all of which were delivered through Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. Accenture also provided continued support to manage the new solution, as well as a change management program for training employees on the governance of the new services.
