Edel Lynch is Director of Accenture's Analytics Innovation Centre in Dublin, and is responsible for driving its growth as a global centre of excellence for advanced analytics. Edel also leads Accenture’s global Fraud and Risk Analytics practice, centred in Dublin with teams across the United States, United Kingdom, India and Warsaw. The practice implements fraud and risk analytics capabilities for a diverse set of cross-industry clients including those in financial services, health, retail, telecommunications and the public sector.
The explosion of data, and the evolution of underlying Big Data technologies, presents tremendous opportunities for organisations. Edel and her team, work with clients around the world to harness this data and create real insights that deliver tangible business outcomes. Edel specialises in the planning and delivery of complex business analytics programmes, from helping organisations to design their analytics strategy, to managing the organisational and technical aspects of implementation, through to embedding advanced analytics into the strategic decision making processes.
Edel joined Accenture in 1996, and has 18 years consulting experience. She has worked extensively in the public sector on the delivery of large technology programmes and more recently across other industry sectors in her leadership role within Accenture’s global analytics practice. Edel has a master’s degree in Applied Environmental Science from Queen’s University Belfast, and a degree in Applied Physics from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her young family.
