Dan Sheils leads Accenture’s Health and Public Service business in Ireland and brings over 20 years’ experience of working with governments and public service agencies in Ireland and abroad to his role. He has also worked with leading multi-national companies in the insurance and retail industries.
In recent years Dan and his team have worked closely with major government departments and state agencies to create innovative solutions for delivering more efficient and improved public services. Accenture’s Health and Public Service practice has been at the heart of many of the most innovative and high-profile initiatives conducted under the Public Sector Reform programme. Dan has particular expertise in programme management, shared services implementations and large-scale IT implementation management.
He has led Accenture’s work for several years in the local revenue and justice sectors.
Dan joined Accenture in 1993. He has been a member of Accenture’s Irish Leadership Team for several years where he previously performed the role of People Advocate with responsibility for designing Accenture’s human capital strategy, furthering our leadership programmes, coordinating our inclusion and diversity initiatives and maximising our employee engagement.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Law degree from University College Dublin and a Masters in European Law, from Trinity College, Dublin. He lives in Dublin and in his spare time he travels to west Clare as much as possible with his wife Johanna and their two daughters to enjoy the golf and water-sports on the Atlantic coastline.
