What is it?
The EXCITED Festival will launch a new platform which aims to position Ireland as a leader and innovator in Digital Learning. The festival will demonstrate that Ireland is committed to building the required skills to equip our children to realise the opportunity offered by the Digital Economy. It will highlight how Ireland is focused on building the right skills to meet our future talent needs. The festival will be live streamed by RTE Digital, bringing this message to a global stage.
EXCITED will bring together trailblazing teachers and educators who are charting the way forward for the future of technology in education. As well as international key note speakers the organisers are bringing together students, leaders in enterprise and academics who will collaborate, debate and discuss how together we can design Ireland’s Digital Learning Strategy.
Accenture is joined by a range of industry partners and government bodies in supporting this initiative, including the IDA, Dell, Intel, Microsoft and Facebook. EXCITED is also supported by Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission. You can watch her video interview here where she articulates her support for EXCITED.
Accenture have been supporting Minister Cannon in developing the agenda and approach for the festival and will contribute in the following ways:
Facilitating creative workshops with school children to develop ideas that will be fed into the Digital Learning Strategy
Presenting the prize to the winners of an NDRC led ‘Best Ideas’ competition
Leading an Industry Forum with Minister Cannon, which will be used to gather feedback to input into the Ireland Digital Learning Strategy
Marian Corcoran, Client Director Accenture Strategy will take part in a panel discussion with senior leaders from Twitter, Lego and Facebook which will be moderated by Aoibheann Ní Shúilleabháin
EXCITED has real potential to create a joint strategy for Digital Learning that will truly transform education in Ireland and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
