Job Title: Confidentiality Compliance Counsel

Job Summary

You will play a key role in promoting Accenture’s compliance with confidentiality requirements, regulations and Accenture policies, with the goal of protecting the assets and reputation of Accenture!

This role supports the Managing Director with the implementation and management of Accenture’s Confidentiality Compliance Program and serves as a subject matter authority on confidentiality risk mitigation. The role is broad and requires an understanding of confidentiality standard methodologies, trade secrets law, and an awareness of regulatory systems around the world.

You will focus on providing subject matter expertise and support to global business and corporate functions relating to confidentiality-related laws and regulations. It will particularly collaborate and provide legal mentorship to various legal, security, and business teams regarding Accenture solutions, including addressing changes in the law that impact our business.

The scope of work encompasses support to other parts of the Legal function, the Confidentiality Compliance Program and business partners on:

(1) transactional confidentiality-related matters in client contracts; and (2) confidentiality-related reviews of the company’s services and offerings. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering relevant confidentiality-related trainings and communications, as well as tools, templates, resources and mentorship materials.

  • Core responsibilities Shape Program and Solutions: Supports our confidentiality program initiatives, including:
  • Developing and delivering of confidentiality compliance training
  • Developing and implementing confidentiality policies and internal controls
  • Planning and drafting confidentiality compliance communications
  • Working with senior management and outside counsel to conduct risk assessments, recommend improvements to the compliance program, and support the implementation of embraced recommendations
  • Working with internal partners to build confidentiality compliance monitoring tools to help Accenture executives flag, raise and mitigate confidentiality risks.
  • Client Interaction & Responsible Business: Provides objective, focused, practical advice and solutions to Accenture businesses and Legal regarding compliance with confidentiality-based laws and regulations, Accenture’s Code of Business Ethics, Accenture’s confidentiality policies, and all other related policies.
  • Strategic Alliance & Partnerships: Collaborates with Legal colleagues and the business to mitigate confidentiality-based risk.
  • V&A: Collaborates with Ventures & Acquisitions colleagues and Corporate Development to identify, analyze and mitigate substantive confidentiality-based issues.
  • Thought Leadership: Collaborates with compliance colleagues to: (a) provide thought leadership for our compliance efforts generally by staying abreast of compliance standard methodologies practices and changes in laws and regulations; and (b) assist in the development of related policies to address business and legal requirements.
  • Audits & Investigations: Responds to and helps run internal audits and internal investigations related to confidentiality law issues.


  • Reports to: Managing Director – Confidentiality Compliance
  • Other areas of Legal, as well as external counsel
  • Geographic leadership and key business leadership
  • Security consulting practice in the region
  • Antitrust/Trade Secret professionals at client and peer companies



  • JD or equivalent law degree (based on geography) required

Work Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability as an attorney passionate about trade secret law and ideally some antitrust experience as well

Work Requirements:

  • Some travel required at times; ability to handle work remotely

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of confidentiality standard methodologies and trade secret laws and regulatory systems around the world
  • Knowledge of compliance and ethics framework for global corporations
  • Experience developing compliance programs, including preparing policies and internal controls; developing and conducting training; responding to government investigations; and drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Good discernment and knowledge of Accenture’s business strategy (or similar business strategy at another company if expert hire)
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions, and a high level of common sense, including the ability to see around the corner and spot risks before they materialize
  • Ability to synthesize sophisticated legal analysis into clear recommendations
  • Good executive presence and the ability to work optimally with the senior business leaders at Accenture, partners from law firms
  • Must have the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and work optimally remotely and within a distributed team, across various levels
  • Adapts nimbly to changing needs within the business
  • Strong writing and negotiation skills
