The Global Services Legal team is a strategic business partner and product counsel for Accenture’s five Service lines, e.g. Strategy & Consulting, Industry X, Interactive, Operations and Technology.  We also function as the integrator between various other parts of the Legal team, coordinating between the multidisciplinary areas of deep expertise across the wider Legal team, in order to deliver one holistic Legal perspective to our business.

Global Services Legal is looking for an experienced legal counsel to join the

Industry X Legal team.

Job Responsibilities:

Key areas of responsibility in this role include:

  • Supporting the growth of Industry X as a strategic partner and trusted advisor;

  • Assessing new Industry X product and service offerings, including identifying relevant risks and appropriate risk mitigation strategies (contractual, operational, technical);

  • Developing clear communications, guidance, templates and trainings on Industry X related topics for sales and go to market teams, development teams, technical teams and the rest of the Legal organization;

  • Teaming with Accenture’s regulatory and compliance counsel to synthesize and apply regulatory and compliance advice, including anticipating the impact of regulatory changes on Industry X’s business;

  • Enabling new third-party strategic alliances and partnerships, including capability sourcing via partner/vendor and resale/agency transactions;

  • Helping evaluate prospective acquisition targets on behalf of Industry X, conduct due diligence, and shape post-merger integration strategies; and

  • Taking on additional strategic projects at the direction of the Industry X Market Legal Leads and/or Industry X Global Legal Lead.

  • Legal degree.

  • Admitted to the bar (or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise fully qualified to practice law.

  • 6+ years’ post-qualification legal experience, with a preference for prior experience advising on the development, launch, and ongoing operation of product and service offerings (including ‘as-a-Service’ offerings).

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Candidates will be:

    • Pragmatic and practical in their approach to advising and delivering legal support;

    • Emotionally intelligent and able to influence internal stakeholders, external clients and suppliers;

    • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity;

    • A good communicator and well organized; and

    • Flexible to work global hours where necessary

  • Candidates should have demonstrated interest in, industry awareness or prior knowledge of key Industry X technologies, such as digital manufacturing, digital twins, Internet of Things/edge computing, cloud computing, embedded systems, and artificial intelligence.

  • Candidates will ideally also have experience with one or more of:

    • Risk identification, analysis, and management relating to product design & engineering, and/or operational technology, as distinct from information technology consulting;

    • Product liability in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer contexts;

    • Applicable regulatory landscapes and their effect on product and service qualification, development & launch (e.g., for hardware, embedded systems, and/or software);

    • Drafting and negotiation of client and supplier agreements, including understanding of intellectual property, data privacy and data protection issues; and

    • Developing trusted relationships with senior business leaders.
