Process Tester (Banking)

Summary of Role:
 
The Process Tester (Banking) role is a core member of the Programme Team.  The role involves following a pre-defined process to test adherence of a number of banking products to specific criteria using multiple banking systems. The successful candidate will be required to follow the test procedure and document test cases with supporting evidence.
The focus of this role is on product/process testing rather than systems testing.
In that role, they will:
  • Work in a Programme delivery environment and complete test execution
  • Execute tests in accordance with prescribed test procedures
  • Work with business to ensure quality across all of the test phases
  • Ensure project delivery deadlines are met
Responsibilities of the role: -
  • Complete tester training procedures provided by experienced business resources
  • Develop capabilities to execute test procedures on multiple banking systems
  • Learn key features on specific banking products and associated processes
  • Execute and adhere to test procedures
  • Identify and flag any issues encountered during testing
  • Collaborate well with both technical and business people
  • Drive the continuous improvement of testing procedures
  • Request clarity and understanding of the requirements if required
  • Drive quality across all tasks and activities completed
  • Meet project delivery dates
  • Adherence to quality standards, test & defect recording
  • Perform assigned tasks within the allocated timeframe, and report any potential deviations to agreed timelines
  • Participate in QA processes such as reviews / lessons learnt

Experience and skills required

  • 2.1 or higher in a related discipline from an academic institution;
  • 1 plus years of testing experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Analytically minded
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Highly motivated and ability to learn new processes and systems
The following is a strong plus:
  • Experience executing tests and following test procedures
  • Familiarity with documentation of test cases
  • Background in retail financial services
