Scrum Master – Associate Manager 


We’re looking for an Agile Scrum Master to join our growing organisation.  You will be working on one of our largest IT Transformation Programmes in the financial services sector.  


What you’ll be doing 

  • Identifies, assesses and aids the team in solving complex business problems 
  • Coaches and guides the team in Scrum best practice 
  • Protects the Sprint goal, and ensures that the team do everything within their power to achieve that goal 
  • Evangelises the benefits of agile development within the team and also the broader Agile community in Accenture 
  • Removes obstacles that affect the team 
  • Protects the team from outside distractions and shields the development team from all noise and interruptions 
  • Handholds the Product Owner when discussing more technical user stories, bringing in team members at required 
  • Sets up and takes ownership of retrospectives, sprint reviews and sprint planning sessions 
  • Ensures that the team smoothly adjusts to the cadence of the Sprint ceremonies, and also maximises the amount of available development time 
  • Ensures that the team has latitude in decision-making, and can act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments

Your skills and qualifications 

  • Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent 
  • 1-2 years hands on Scrum experience in a dedicated Scrum Master role 
  • Desirable (but not mandatory) to be certified in Agile practices i.e. 
  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) 
  • PSM (Professional Scrum Master) 
  • Understanding or Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFeLeSS) 
  • Strong communicator. Great listener. Ability to build empathy quickly, with people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets 
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills  
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of delivering solutions using Agile frameworks, methodologies (E.g. Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, XP, etc.) 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Scrum Guide, and its practical application to solution delivery  
  • Knowledge of other Agile delivery methods (E.g. Kanban, XP) 
  • Hands-on experience of the software development lifecycle, and application lifecycle management  
  • Detailed understanding of Agile metrics and value tracking across the SDLC  
  • Practical experience using Agile-enabling tools, for task allocation, backlog tracking, metrics tracking (E.g. team velocity tracking)  
  • Practical experience of applying technological solutions to enable Continuous Delivery (E.g. Orchestration via Jenkins, Test Automation via Selenium, Automated Deployment via Chef)
