Job Title: Accounting Statutory and Tax Specialist

Level: 9 - Consultant

Location: Dublin



  • Co-ordinate the statutory accounts preparation process under local IFRS in line with filing deadlines.
  • Co-ordinate team members in the production and preparation of the statutory accounts.
  • Review of reconciliation between the Statutory and US GAAP Ledgers.
  • Calculation of the corporation tax provision for inclusion in the statutory accounts
  • Oversee technical accounting research; including assessing the financial reporting implications of recently issued accounting standards.
  • Preparation and review of accounting and tax treatment memorandums.
  • Preparation of the year-end tax packages for submission as well as answering queries and providing data as required.
  • Liaising with auditors and tax advisors answering queries & providing data as required.
  • Review of the corporation tax forecast on a quarterly basis
  • USGAAP accounting close including
    • Reconciliation and analysis of accounts
    • Month End Review, Process & Reporting
    • Internal Controls (Sarbanes Oxley)
    • Other ad hoc reporting
  • Participate in the winding down process of entities
  • Responsibility for accounting for acquisitions
  • Develop and manage the relationship with key stakeholders
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and proposed Tax/VAT legislation and rulings
  • Detailed review of the monthly statutory and tax reconciliations
  • Maximize team performance through target management and motivation
  • Facilitate and provide cross team support as required
  • Provide accounting support to the Manager including responses to ad hoc requests
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement projects
  • Provide reporting to management on issues, statistics, metrics and projects

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Professional accountancy qualification, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA
  • 5 years of progressive tax/accounting experience
  • Company statutory accounts preparation knowledge
  • Exposure to Irish GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS. Previous experience with SAP an advantage
  • Proficient on Excel
