Junior Project Manager / Business Analyst


Role Summary / Overall purpose of job  


The successful candidate will operate as a PM in a functional and/or technical role in a business or systems delivery environment primarily within the High-Tech / Consultancy industry.   


Typically based on a client site, this role is largely comprised of shaping and driving a project to completion and management of stakeholders involved across multiple diverse groups. The role requires strong project management skills, with the successful candidate demonstrating a delivery track record of complex technology or business solutions in a client-facing environment.


Additionally candidates should be able to provide thought leadership to a client and have the ability to support and influence a client in their approach to attain execution excellence of their operations


Main Responsibilities/Accountabilities   


·            Shape and drive a project from initiation stage to project close

·            Ensures that project vision and goals are clearly defined and that key stakeholders are identified and on-boarded

·            Manages project scope

·            Defines the project plan, roles and responsibilities and communications plan

·            Leads the project methodology, ensuring that templates and work instructions are clear for all project phases and deliverables

·            Creates and maintains the project plan

·            Drives to ensure that issues and risks are actioned and mitigated in a timely manner

·            Management of multiple stakeholders across multiple business and technical groups

·            Track record of ability to ramp-up quickly

·            Creation of status reports for management stakeholders

·            Ability to work under pressure and deliver

·            Maintain strong client focus at all times

·      Facilitation of client workshops to present and validate and achieve stakeholder consensus on business approaches, requirements or plans

Personal Specification 




3+ years Project Management experience 

Proven ability to shape and drive a project from initiation stage to project close

Proven delivery track record in managing/supporting non IT projects (e.g. Business) projects and stakeholders. Examples of such projects include ensuring the smooth roll-out of launches and enhancement to the business or to the business customers, continuous process improvement & cost reduction initiatives, operations assessments etc 

Strong Executive Presence, ability to interact and influence at senior management and above level

Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to handle and address ambiguity head-on 

Excellent project management skills 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong relationship building and communications abilities 

Proactive in approach, self-starter and requires minimum supervision in order to get job done 

Strong Microsoft Project skills, along with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills

Previous experience of managing and collaborating with large, disparate and often virtual teams 

Previous experience working in the IT or High-Tech sector would be beneficial 

Previous experience working in large multi-national would be beneficial

Familiarity with/Exposure to different software methodologies e.g. SDLC, Agile, Waterfall etc. 




PMP certified or similar qualification

Relevant 3rd level qualification - honours degree 

3+ years PM experience
