What you’ll be doing

JOB SUMMARY: The IoT (Internet of Things) Domain Lead is a technical and commercially-savvy expert in IoT who can be the front-face of IoT at The Dock to our clients, and who can be the bridge between Accenture’s global IoT leadership team and the Dock’s R&D and client work.


        As The Dock’s IoT Domain Lead, domain advisor and central point of contact, provide IoT (Internet of Things) business and technical domain expertise to The Dock’s ecosystem of innovation projects, clients, and regional partners (i.e., Universities, Cities, Technical Partners, Corporate Peers)
Domain Expertise may include but is not limited to IoT/IoE (Internet of Everything): 
- Technical understanding of how IoT sensors, devices, communication methods, and platforms work and integrate with one another to develop a solution
- Business/technical understanding of market trends and business case development to identify industry/client needs and potential solutions/approaches
- Ability to evaluate ecosystem partners for solution selection, awareness and guidance on communication, platform, device, and sensor advancements.

        Serve as a spokesperson as necessary for IoT events/solutions/Connected Building tours within The Dock and Accenture more broadly

        Provide domain expertise to visiting clients on The Dock's IoT-enabled value propositions

        Hire and manage a shared business domain resource to provide ongoing advisory support

        Interface with Accenture Digital IoT Practice and Global CSGs to both develop and commercialize IoT solutions for Accenture

        Develop IoT-focused White Papers / Points of View on technology landscape/cutting edge of IoT


        Be responsible for managing a permanent IoT business team to oversee IoT projects and client relationships at The Dock

        Be the central point of contact and public face of IoT for The Dock, its project teams, clients, employees, and visitors

        Be a technical and business advisor to Accenture Digital’s IoT Practice and The Dock’s Connected Building team

        Be responsible for leading IoT-focused client tours of The Dock showcase (note: logistical support to coordinate tours will be provided by local administrative teams)

        Support The Dock’s Chief Project Officer by managing The Dock’s IoT project pipeline, including identifying, qualifying, adding, and providing oversight to new IoT projects and teams

        Support The Dock’s Chief Client Officer in shaping and leading an IoT client pipeline derived from client engagements with The Dock

        Support IoT project teams in developing business valuation and commercialization approaches to productize/commercialize offerings

        Be required to travel globally to client sites to provide IoT project / industry updates as needed, with the vast majority of time being spent in Dublin


        Minimum of 10 years of IoT/technology offering development / product commercialization experience

        Minimum 10 years of corporate experience

        Minimum of 5 years of management consulting or industry and client business development experience

        Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience

        Minimum of 5 years of global client delivery / account development experience

        Master's of Business Administration (MBA)/similar business degree and/or IoT/Engineering academic background, or commensurate years of experience

        Extensive understanding of IoT/Data Analytics/AI/Blockchain products, clients, strategies, and ecosystem communication/platform/device/sensors partners

        Fluent understanding and use of English language

        Authority and willingness to live and work in Ireland


        Ability to lead the development of an IoT product, including:
- Aligning stakeholders
- Guiding stakeholders on IoT industry best practices including the selection of appropriate IoT solutions/vendors/platforms based on understanding of market trends/solutions and client/project needs 
- Defining business requirements
- Defining product business cases / value propositions
- Executing product creation, testing, implementation, and scaling

        Ability to independently and with teams contribute/advise clients and internal parties on IoT-related strategies and product offerings

        Ability to independently and with teams build and qualify an IoT-oriented client/project pipeline

        Ability to independently and with teams identify and negotiate IoT sales opportunities

        Ability to leverage and contribute to Accenture's global thought leadership on IoT

        Ability to use Accenture internal systems to track and progress client and project pipelines
