Your Role
By joining Accenture’s Finance & Risk team, you will play a central role in helping organizations achieve their strategic and derived operational, reporting and compliance goals. Our experienced professionals and cutting-edge solutions enable organizations to cost-effectively manage risks initiatives and controls.
 
Finance & Risk Analytics professionals help firms build market leading capabilities, providing tools and techniques which help in managing uncertainty by using statistical analysis covering quantification, analysis and reporting of risk.  They deliver and report on information supporting risk management and governance. They also provide data management covering data governance, quality, ownership, sourcing and architecture. Performance management is provided by adjusting the performance measures for the risk exposure at individual, group and corporate levels.  Such professionals also help firms to reduce the volatility of results through a more proactive management of risks and rewards.

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:  
  • Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near-term goals
  • Interacts with senior level (C-suite, SVP, VP, etc.) clients and/or within Accenture on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach
  • Has some latitude in decision-making
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures to deliver against assignments
  • Decisions have a major day-to-day impact on area of responsibility
  • Manages large-to-medium sized teams of diverse backgrounds, skill sets and technical/functional knowledge and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture
Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Support and/or lead project teams engaged in the successful delivery of a wide range of client engagements
  • Design, implement, and deploy solutions to achieve defined business goals
  • Advise clients on a wide range of wide range of risk analytics solutions; develop and manage relationships as a trusted advisor to senior executives, with an eye towards qualifying potential opportunities
  • Integrate decision science and analytical thinking, past experiences and methodologies, market analysis and company goals to drive client solutions
  • Manage engagement risk, project economics including planning and budgeting, manage account receivables, define deliverable content, ensure buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client
  • Provide support to management in business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities, developing client proposals, and building strong relationships with Accenture clients
  • Develop thought capital and disseminate information around current and emerging trends
  • Support development of the Risk Analytics practice by driving initiatives around market research, capability development, knowledge management, etc.
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across Risk Analytics and broader financial services marketplace

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of prior Management Consulting experience focused on the Financial Services industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with:
    • Credit, market, liquidity and/or operational risk analytics (e.g., model development, strategy and framework, scorecard development, model documentation, model validation, model governance, model implementation, integration and automation, etc.)
    • Retail, commercial, and/or Capital Markets portfolios, including commercial lending, asset-based lending, treasury services and investment banking.  Exposure to insurance, wholesale/retail lending, deposits, etc. desirable
    • Risk regulatory trends, principles, and practices (e.g., CCAR, DFAST, Internal Capital Reporting, Capital Planning, Risk Weighted Assets, etc.), including any combination of the following: back testing, stress testing, sensitivity testing, benchmarking, capital calculations, reporting standards, etc.
    • SAS or Matlab.  Exposure and/or proficiency to other analytical tools such as R, SQL, C++, VBA, Murex, Calypso, Numerix, etc., desirable
  • Solid project management experience including: defining scope, setting project timelines and milestone, driving deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, project economics and client relationship management)
  • Model development/quantitative skills should include any combination of the following: multivariate regression models, transition matrices, stochastic processes, econometric models, neural networks, Monte Carlo, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with credit/market risk type models (e.g., ALLL, PD/LGD, Roll Rate, VAR, SVAR, etc.)
  • Exposure to commercial lending, commercial real estate, credit card, mortgage, retail and/or trading book
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique components and behaviors commercial portfolios such as: loan origination and underwriting; credit policies; portfolio management, allowance for loan and lease losses; loan review and remediation
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with clients, lead key requirement workshops, document and understand requirements
  • Strong competence in developing presentations required (MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel))
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as: Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or other quantitative discipline.  An Advanced Degree in one or more of these disciplines is highly desirable
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience qualifying potential opportunities and negotiating complex deals
  • Experience within the model risk or model development team of a universal bank, wholesale bank or rating agency
  • Data management experience (e.g., extracting, aggregating and structuring large volumes of data, etc.) in the context of analytics 
  • Strong understanding of front and back office operations desirable

  • Ability to work independently and manage dynamic consulting projects with heavy client engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client needs, develop proposed solutions, and deliver high impact change initiatives
  • Highly motivated and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy and demanding team-oriented environment (both with clients and within the organization)
  • Demonstrated change management experience
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving and demanding environment
  • Results-oriented, self-directed, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial-minded
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Strong desire to work in the management consulting industry and deep interest in financial services
