Innovation requires a combination of strategy, content and culture. Making it real is about people; testing, prototyping and learning every day.
So, I’ll be honest, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind here at The Dock as we have grown from one person about 16 months ago to over 200 now—with top talent coming from 24 different nations across the globe. This includes returning Irish talent coming back to our “innovation nation” to collaborate together in Accenture’s global multi-disciplinary research and incubation hub.
Moving from concept to reality at The Dock has always had people at the heart. We now have outstanding talent working with us in our new collaborative, connected space in the heart of Dublin’s thriving tech quarter in Silicon Docks. We have achieved so much in a short space of time, truly rotating to the new and bringing innovation to our clients at speed and at scale. As you mingle in The Dock, you will see a magic mix of designers, developers and experts in areas like artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and IoT, bringing the innovation concepts to life. Our teams work on a broad range of cross industry R&D projects simultaneously across areas as diverse as natural language processing in the health and life sciences industry and internet of things applications within the financial services and travel sector.
Our world leading connected building is designed to meet today’s demands and adapt to the needs of a future workforce. We have thousands of sensors which enable our people to more easily connect with each other and clients, configure meeting and work spaces to meet their needs and find people with the relevant skills to work on projects together. We have had over 1,000 visitors in just three months—that’s a lot of welcoming cups of tea!
It's a pretty stimulating and fun place to work. No two days are ever the same. The people you meet every day surprise and delight you. Around every corner there is a new idea, a new pitch, a new innovation. Robots and phone booths mix with mega hubs on wheels and virtual and augmented reality devices. But amidst all that, people also stop to talk to each other, to share an encouraging word, to practice mindfulness or to teach kids to code at our Coder Dojo.
This is what we mean when we say the future becomes real at The Dock, through our people, our place and our projects. This is The Dock, where we are making innovation real.
